Rugadh agus tógadh Jim I mBaile Uí Mhurchú. Gabhadh é in aois 22 agus chaith sé 10 mbliana i bpríosún na Ceise Fada. Tá sé gníomhach san obair phobail sa cheantar ó scaoileadh saor é. Is bunaitheoir é do Chumann Spóirt an Phobail sa cheantar agus comhairleoir traenáilte é. Chuaigh sé ag obair le Active Communities i mBéal Feirste in 2015 agus d’fhás an eagraíocht faoina stiúir agus is Comh-Phríomhfheidhmeannach anois é ar an eagraíocht anois é.

 

Jim was born and raised in Ballymurphy. He was arrested aged 22 and imprisoned in Long Kesh where he spent ten years. He has been active in community development since his release from prison and is a founding member of local sports organisation Cumann Spóirt an Phobail. He began working for the Active Communities Network full-time in 2015 and co-ordinated its Belfast programme which grew under his stewardship. He’s now the Joint Chief Executive of the Active Communities Network.
